In its fourth phase of existence, Marvel Cinematic Universe is leaving no stone unturned in ensuring its success. The key difference from the earlier phases is a considerably more focus on the television universe which goes hand in hand with the cinematic one. The latest big name to join the MCU slate of actors is Emilia Clarke. It has been confirmed that she will be appearing in the upcoming MCU series titled ‘Secret Invasion’. However, she wants to make her entry right into the biggest franchise in the world right now and is being extra cautious about keeping her role a secret.

Best known to play the Mother of Dragons, Daenerys Targaryen, in the HBO fantasy drama ‘Game of Thrones’, Emilia Clarke’s entry into the MCU was long-awaited. On her recent appearance on ‘The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon’, she officially announced that she was a part of the MCU now. However, she also revealed that the Marvel team was incredibly serious about her role in the upcoming highly awaited series ‘Secret Invasion’.
The show is based on the same-named Marvel comic book series. It tells the story of the Skrulls, the dangerous shape-shifting aliens with whom Captain Marvel tussled in the first film. The Skrulls have taken over the civilization, and Earth’s mighty heroes will get seen defending themselves. As a result, it is safe to assume that Emilia will play a key role in the superhero drama.
The series, which also stars Samuel Jackson, will begin filming in August and be released later that year. The cast and plot of the series have remained a closely guarded secret. It is also expected that Captain Marvel, along with other members of the Avengers team, will make an appearance or two in the series.

Emilia mentioned that the Marvel team has been highly secretive about her role. Fallon, however, pointed out that she must have gotten trained in doing so since the makers of ‘Game of Thrones’ were also highly notorious for maintaining secrets. Emilia replied that the security at Marvel was even more guarded than it was on ‘GOT’.
However, Marvel people could not stop the fans from theorizing about her role in the MCU. Some are saying that she will be essaying the role of Jessica Drew in the series. In the comics, she is the character that takes on the mantle of Spider-Man. Other theories claim that Emilia is going to play either the villain or an anti-hero.
