The Flash recently won an Oscar for the most ‘cheer-worthy’ moment. Now it has some interesting information leaked out thanks to recent test screenings. The biggest one being how the post-credit scene of the Flash sets up Justice League 2 or a Crisis event. While the star of the movie Ezra Miller’s future as Flash seems in limbo. Furthermore, a Reddit leaks state that The Flash will end with a cryptic message from Ben Affleck’s Batman. Batman says ‘Come Find Us Barry’ while standing in a post-Apocolypse setting. It is the Knightmare timeline.
Flash solves the Knightmare
If you have watched Batman Vs Superman: Dawn of Justice or Zack Snyder’s Justice League you might have an idea about it. The Knightmare timeline is the one in which Batman roams with a Gun wearing a trenchcoat in a desert. It shows Darkseid has killed Wonder Woman and Aquaman. After that, he takes control of Superman’s free will using the Anti-Life Equation.
Darkseid has taken over the entire world and only Batman along with Joker, Deathstroke, Cyborg, Mera and Flash survive. The story would be that Flash has to travel back in time to warn Batman ahead of time about Lois Lane. ‘Lois Lane is the key’ means that it is essential that she is alive because only after her death did Superman lose all hope and succumbs to the Anti-Life Equation.
The Flash opens the mutliverse and nothing is getting erased.

Continuity errors
So the Flash post-credit might be indicating that the Darkseid takeover is complete for setting up Justice League 2. Now it is up to the rest to save the world.
But there is a bit of continuity error here. Flash never left Batman and his team in the Knightmare timeline. And there is no reason for Batman to tell Flash to find them since that timeline is going nowhere. It is only meant to show how Flash goes back to warn Bruce.
The Flash’s Canon and the future DCEU canon
The Flash is important to the DC executives since this is a chance to soft reboot their whole franchise. The debacle of Justice League will forever haunt any movies made in the DCEU timeline.
So the purpose of this movie is not to be a proper origin tale for Flash. Instead, it is a movie meant to shoehorn as much stuff as possible to create a new timeline. Barry runs into the speed force which results in him going into a different reality.
It will be interesting to see how Andy Muschietti will use Flash’s abilities in his 2022 solo Flash film. This will introduce the Multiverse concept as well. It will require Flash to run back and forth in time to interact with various superheroes as he goes into different timelines.
The new timeline is a one in which Sasha Calle’s Supergirl exists and Michael Keaton’s Batman is still the Dark Knight. But for some reason, Aquaman and Wonder Woman are still the same. This goes to show the attention to detail gone into crafting this new universe. So this new Justice League will be the one that is canon going forward, instead of what we saw in Zack Snyder’s Justice League.
The Flash releases in the summer of 2023 on June 23.
